Engaging Elders to End Harmful Practices in Kilgoris 24/06/2025

Menvolved Initiative, in collaboration with our partners, held a transformative male dialogue with elders in Kilgoris, Narok County, focused on ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage. The session brought together influential male elders—the custodians of culture—for open and honest conversations on the impact of these harmful practices on girls and the broader community. Participants explored the role of men in challenging outdated norms, championing positive masculinity, and fostering sustainable, community-led change. As elders reflected on shifting attitudes and the need for protection and dignity for all children, the dialogue signaled growing momentum for change from within.

Men Take the Lead: Narosura Chiefs and Elders Join the Fight Against FGM

On 16 July 2025, Menvolved Initiative facilitated a transformative male engagement community dialogue in Narosura, Narok County, uniting area chiefs, age-set leaders, and community elders in a bold conversation on ending female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and other harmful cultural practices. The session created a safe, reflective space for men to challenge outdated norms and reimagine their roles as protectors and advocates for girls’ rights. With powerful declarations of change and renewed commitments from traditional leaders, the dialogue signaled a meaningful shift toward a future where culture champions dignity, not harm.
